Processing of LIDAR data

Using a pulse from a laser, remote sensing technology known as LiDAR is used in surveying to determine distance. In short, LiDAR stands for Light Detection and Range Estimation. The time it takes for the light to contact an item or surface and reflect back to the scanner is calculated by the LiDAR system. The speed of light is used to estimate the distance. As a result, the data is known as a “point cloud”

A point cloud of LiDAR data is used to map a whole city or an area of interest (AOI) and precisely identify the location of a specific building. Point cloud data may be used to digitally extract features and items like the road network, bridges, visible objects, and vegetation, for example.

Services in Photogrammetry
